countdowns...

so a friend of mine (i won't mention any names... Ali Shiozawa Miles) decided to very politely ask that we update our blog. i keep putting this off because i feel like there's really nothing new to say. finally i have something!

ammon is working as a clerk this summer at a place that we are unable to mention for safety reasons. he was trained how to avoid being followed home from work, which obviously makes me a little nervous, although he now feels super important and special. :) he enjoys work because they are pretty laid back. he even gets an hour and a half lunch break so he can come home to his loving family everyday. another plus... work is only 5-10 minutes away! if only he can keep that job after school! we're keeping our fingers crossed. this brings us to our first countdown of the post... only 2 more years of law school! :)

i just finished my last day of school on Friday... HURRAY! i will no longer get emails from crazy parents who are begging me to change their child's grade despite their lack of effort all year long. i will be tutoring all summer, and probably for at least the next 2 years to help supplement the student loans. :) i enjoy tutoring... these students don't talk back and generally try hard. it's actually a lot better money as well. i guess since this one is never-ending, there is no countdown. with all the time i have now, i'll actually be able to work on the nursery and emma's blessing dress. i'll post pics when they're done!

saturday marked the first day of the last month for emma. now i only have 4 weeks to go. i go in for weekly doctors appointments (thursdays at 8:30 am), where my doctor will hopefully give me a better idea of the due date. just like every other mother-to-be... i'm hoping she's early. ammon and i walk around our neighborhood at least every other day. sometimes we do a couple of laps... at least until i start feeling some contractions. during mutual the other night (i'm the beehive advisor), we were playing human foosball. i decided to sit out, but they asked me to be the ref and to throw the ball in. i agreed, but after an hour and a half of running around the gym and booting the ball back into play, i decided that emma might not be so happy with me. i was right when 10 minutes after the game was up, i wasn't feeling so hot. apparently 35 pounds of extra weight, and a human child growing inside of me, takes a toll on my body.

the last countdown... hawaii! mom and dad brown planned a fabulous hawaii trip for july 20-26 BEFORE we found out we were pregnant. luckily the doctors have all said that this should still be a possibility for us... and emma! phew! only 8 weeks to go! this will officially be both ammon and emma's first hawaii experience! hurray!
