Happy 2nd Birthday Emma!!

Because we were moving to Flagstaff before Emma's birthday, we decided to throw Emma a birthday party in Phoenix a few weeks early so that her friends could come. I decided to do a beach theme because Emma loves "boc-bocs" (flip-flops). I handed out a few goodies, had a few events, and then everyone dove into cupcakes...Emma literally. Thanks again for everyone who came! Emma sure does miss you all!

On Emma's real birthday (June 16), we had a mini party with the 3 of us and a lot of ice cream. I attempted to make Emma a sand castle out of the ice cream. It fell apart and melted once the candles were blown out, but whatever.

Emma and I flew up to Salt Lake for Kimball's missionary homecoming. While there, Emma had birthday party #3 with all of Ammon's family. Thanks again guys...I'm glad you got to be a part of it!

Enjoying opening the gifts! If you wonder why Ammon and other men are in the background of the pics, if at all...it's because the Suns game was on. :) She was definitely spoiled, so here are only a couple pics. Thanks to everyone for being so generous!!

I've definitely learned my lesson...probably not having 3 parties next year! I LOVE birthday parties, but one is good enough for me! :)

Love you Emma! I'm so proud of the crazy little toddler you've become!

choo choo!

Emma and I went to the valley last weekend to watch Madi's dance show. Madi was amazing, as always! On Saturday, we went to the mall to have lunch with Ty and my parents. In the Chandler Mall, there is a little train that does a loop on the bottom floor. Naturally, Emma has always wanted to ride it. Grampa Truck finally granted her wish...

A real conductor and everything :)

Showing you her ticket...

Can't stop smiling!

flagophiles

you guessed it! flagstaff is starting to grow on us. our apartment is nice, the ward is great, and the weather is unbelievable (for the next few months)! Ammon works full time, comes home to a delicious home-cooked meal, and then puts on his noise-cancelling ear buds (courtesy of mama brown) to listen to his oh-so-intense lectures. studying is tedious, but he loves work! because ammon is never REALLY home, i feel like a single mom. therefore, i've been looking for opportunities to keep myself (and emma) entertained. we walk about a mile a day on her bike (the best birthday gift i've ever given her), head off to parks, and enjoy the outdoors (never though i'd say that). emma LOVES nursery. there are 2 nurseries in the ward, and she's the oldest of the younger one. there are a few other families with red-haired children, so maybe she feels like she's finally found home! :)

ammon also found out that coconino county is able to hire attorneys right now. bummer that he hasn't take the bar yet. hopefully they can continue to hire in a few months, or hopefully maricopa's budget finally has its act together :)

here are some graduation pics...
i cried during the ceremony! it finally all felt real...no more school! too bad he can't officially have a real job for another few months. it's so nice to have a paycheck again though! i'm so proud of all his hard work these last few weeks! only 48 more days til the bar!

being "hooded"...a little too reminiscent of harry potter if you ask me.

if you're wondering why he decided to wear a purple hood and maroon robes, it's because purple is the color of a law degree, and maroon is the color of his school. given the choice, i'm sure he'd have preferred gray with brown.

who's more excited about the big day?

thanks to everyone who made his graduation possible, and to everyone who came to support this big step in our lives! a special thank to tyson photography once again! :) killer zoom lens!
